Court releases civil society activist
Baku/21.03.21/Turan: Civil society activist Fuad Ismailov, who was filming the illegal construction of an object near the railway station in the village of Surakhani, was detained by the police on March 20 at about 2 am.
This was reported to Turan by Fuad Ismailov himself.
According to him, the police officers took him to the 31st police station of Surakhani district. The police appealed to the court to punish the activist under Article 535.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (willful disobedience to a police officer).
However, according to lawyer Elchin Sadigov, the Surakhani district Court stopped the proceedings due to the absence of an offense in the actions of the activist. Fuad Ismailov was released in the courtroom.-0-
