Criminal Case against Taleh Bagirzadeh, Fuad Gahramanli and Others Directed to Court
The indictment in a criminal case against the head of the movement Muslim Unity and another 17 people, including the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party Fuad Gahramanli, has been approved and sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. The lawyer Javad Javadov wrote this on his Facebook page.
In the near future the court will determine the composition of judges who will consider the case.
The defense considers that the preliminary investigation was unable to provide evidence for the declared charges and did not clear up many questions.
“One of these things is the question of why the police officer, who was killed during the special operation by a gunshot wound in the abdomen, was not in a flak jacket, although the operation was named special in the official report of the police,” said the lawyer.
In the course of the special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015, six people were killed, including two policemen.
Total on the case about 70 people have been prosecuted, mostly members and supporters of the movement Muslim Unity. They are accused on a number of articles of the Criminal Code: an attempt to forcibly change the constitutional system, the creation of organized armed criminal groups, etc. Some of them have already been convicted for illegal possession of weapons. PFPA Deputy Chairman Fuad Gahramanli is accused of anti-state calls, inciting religious hatred, and incitement to riot. -03B-
