Criminal cases against site managers
Baku/21.10.21/Turan: The investigation of the criminal case against the founder of the site "azadinfo.az " Mahir Alekperov is over. He was detained on September 8 this year in the case of blackmailing the chairman of the Binagadi branch of the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan" (PEA) Ramiz Geyushev.
Note that Alekperov blackmailed Geyushev by publishing a porn video with his participation and extorting money. After Geyushev's refusal, the video appeared on the website azadinfo.az
Alekperov repeatedly summoned Geyushov to the meeting, demanding 2,000 manats to remove the video. During the transfer of money, Alekperov was detained. He was charged under Article 182.1 (extortion by threats) of the Criminal Code.
The case has been sent to the Nasimi district court of Baku for consideration.
As for Geyushev, he was expelled from the Party for "discrediting the organization" because he was filmed watching a porn video.
Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General's Office announced the detention of the founder of another website - "cia.az "Asef Novruzov and Magsud Safarov, an employee of this structure.
They are accused of extorting money by blackmailing the heads of state institutions, enterprises and organizations. Both were charged under Articles of the Criminal Code 182.2.1 (extortion committed by a group of persons) and 182.2.2 (extortion committed repeatedly) of the Criminal Code. The court chose a measure of restraint against them in the form of arrest.—16D-
