Defense Ministry Does Not Comment on Displacement of Two Generals
Military sources confirmed the information about the dismissal of two senior military officials – the head of the inspection of the Ministry of Defense, National Hero Fakhraddin Jabrayilov and the head of the Lyceum named after Nakhchivansky Mirza Almazov. This information appeared on Friday in the social networks. The press service of the Defense Ministry did not reply to the request.
Earlier, three officers were detained by the Ministry of Defense Inspection for bribery. Following reports in the media on corruption in the Main Military Inspectorate, the Defense Ministry has investigated and identified serious violations in the actions of the inspection. The collected materials were sent to the Prosecutor General, which opened a criminal case.
As military sources told Turan, we are talking about bribery inspectors who took bribes not to fix the violations in the military. The complaint of their actions was filed to the President.
The investigation was entrusted to the National Security Ministry, which reported the results to the head of state. Reportedly, three officers were arrested by the court decision for 4 months. They are prosecuted under Article 311 of the Criminal Code (bribery on a large scale by an organized group).
In turn, the press service of the Prosecutor General confirmed the arrest to Turan IA, refusing further information. "The public will be informed, if necessary," said the spokesman.
As for the causes of displacement of General Almazov, the details are still unknown. According to unconfirmed reports, we are talking about abuse.-02D-
