Exposing Erdogan, Turkish Prosecutors Hiding in Armenia
President Erdogan demanded that the Turkish prosecutors Zekeriya Oz and Celal Kara that fled to Armenia immediately returned home. Yesterday he said this on the Turkish television channel TRT Haber.
In response, the National Security Service of Armenia said that persons with these names and surnames did not enter the territory of the country, reported the Moscow Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
"Zekeriya Oz and Jalal Kara became famous at the end of 2013, when they investigated a corruption scandal, which began December 17 with mass arrests of prominent businessmen and several members of the Erdogan government, as well as their relatives. Recovering from the shock, Erdogan dropped the prosecutors in rank, depriving their powers.
In May this year, Oz and Kara were released from their positions, and then a warrant was issued for their arrest – the investigation accused the former prosecutors of supporting the Fethulllah Gulen movement (Turkish Islamic activist living in exile in the United States) and the organization of illegal armed groups.
However, they failed to arrest Zekeriya Oz and Jalal Kara. They disappeared. Several days later, the news agency Anadolu reported that the former prosecutors through the checkpoint Hopa crossed the Turkish-Georgian border and were in Georgia.
Later the same agency reported, citing the governor of the province of Artvin, that the fugitives had time to leave Georgia and moved to Armenia, with which Turkey has no diplomatic relations.
However, official Yerevan has not commented on the appearance of the Turkish prosecutors on its territory. -02D-
