Delegation of European Commission Meets with Representatives of CSP
Visiting Azerbaijan, the delegation of the European Commission on November 24 met with members of the Civil Society Platform (CSP), Alasgar Mammadov, Ziya Guliyev and Akif Gurbanov.
As Turan was told in CSP, in the course of the meeting the guests were interested in the objectives of CSP and the directions of its activity.
The Delegation of the European Commission discussed the sociopolitical situation in Azerbaijan, the legal and practical status of civil society, the situation with ensuring political freedoms, the issue of political prisoners, ways of solving existing problems, as well as Azerbaijan's relations with international organizations with CSP.
The delegation included a representative of the European Commission for International Cooperation Jari Haapala, the assistant head of the civil society and local government programs Paolo Barabesi, and an employee of the examination center programs supporting the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Programs Tsinziana Elena Poiana. -06D--
