Baku / 09.25.19 / Turan: In the afternoon of September 25, at the trial of the death of 8th grade student of Baku school number 162 Elina Hajiyeva, the hearing of witnesses was continued.
Speaking before the court, a student of this school said the deceased, being nervous, once cut her throat and arms. She also reported that some classmates harassed Elina because of her dress style. Another schoolboy said that classmates often offended Elina. Elina said she was not loved in this school and she wanted to return to her former educational institution.
Then, the chief consultant of the internal oversight sector of the Main Education Department of Baku Sarkhan Rzayev made testimony in the court. According to the official, on April 4, the director of the school, Sevinj Abbasova, called him, informing about the fall of a student from the window.
"She said there was no visible damage, and the nurse was helping her. Then it turned out that she did not fall, but jumped from the third floor. I told her to call an ambulance. And I myself reported the incident to the Ministry of Education. Then the director called me and said the girl was taken to hospital - she had drug poisoning and a fracture of the pelvic bone," Rzayev said.
He also noted that the Baku Education Department was not informed from the school of previous suicide attempts by the teenager. "In fact, they should have informed us. And not only us, but also the commission on juvenile affairs under the executive branch," Rzayev said.
After him, the testimony of the doctors of the city clinical center was heard.
"I got a call - they said a student was in poor condition in that school. When we arrived, the girl was lying. She said she had taken ketatphene in large quantities in the evening and in the morning. I asked why she did this. She replied that no one loved her either at home or at school. The girl said she had earlier attempted suicide and had been thinking about suicide for the past 15 days. Since she said she had taken the medicine, I decided to take her to the toxicology department," said the doctor of the ambulance station Vagif Mursagulov.
In turn, the toxicologist Faig Suleymanov said that although Elina said she took 30 tablets in the evening and in the morning, he did not believe her, for in that case, she had to be in a deep sleep. "But, she had a slight poisoning. Having prescribed treatment, I left her. The rest of the treatment should have been in intensive care," continued Suleymanov.
According to other doctors, the initial examination of Elina's lungs revealed pulmonary edema (fluid accumulation). The resuscitation doctor Vagif Rahimov said 46 percent of patients with pulmonary edema could not be rescued.
However, according to resuscitator Fazil Aliyev, that night, on his watch, Elina"s condition was stable. "Her pressure dropped to 70-40. Having suspected an internal hemorrhage, I sent her to an "ultrasound". But the examination did not reveal anything. The abdominal cavity was clean. In my shift, she testified to the prosecutor. The next morning at 9.00 I passed the patient to the head physician. For a patient in intensive care, her condition was stable. During the inspection, Dr. Akram even said that if the dynamics developed as well, then in a day she could be transferred to a common ward," Aliyev said.
The trial will continue on September 27. -0-

Trial in the case of the death of Elina Hajiyeva
Baku/09.25.19/ Turan: At the trial on the death of Elina Hajiyeva, a 8th grade student of Baku school number 162, testimonies of witnesses continue.
On April 4, 2019, Elina Hajiyeva, born in 2004, jumped out from the third floor of the school. Baku City Prosecutor Office filed a lawsuit under the Article 125 (suicide) of the Criminal Code.
Subsequently, the director of the school, Sevinj Abbasova, was brought to justice and charged under the Articles 143 (leaving in danger) and 314.2 (negligence resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code. However, no one was held accountable under the Article 125 (suicide.)
On Thursday, September 25, at the beginning of the hearing in the Sabail District Court, the lawyers of the injured party filed a petition. They asked to change the preventive measure against the accused, the former principal of the school, Sevinj Abbasova, and transfer her from house arrest to arrest. Lawyers justified this by the fact that the accused gives interviews to the media before and after the court hearings, declaring her innocence.
In addition, the defense has the facts that Abbasova before the court hearings contacts students and teachers of the school and has an effect on them in her favor. The court dismissed the application.
The lawyers of the injured party also requested to conduct audio and video recordings of testimonies of witnesses - doctors of the hospital in which Hajiyeva died. They motivated this by the fact that doctors can use medical terms, which can then be distorted.
Then, at the trial, classmates, friends of Hajiyeva made statements. They said the girl was harassed and pressured at school. A classmate in the previous school where she studied said that Elina complained that they would not accept her in the new school.
Leyla Shirinova, a friend of Elina"s mother, said that the class teacher humiliated Elina in front of her classmates for dyeing her hair. According to Shirinova, the class teacher spoke poorly about Elina and her family and set up the children so that they did not communicate with Elina.
Secretary of the school principal Nigar Mammadova said that on April 4, the girl jumped out of the school window at about 10.00 in the morning, and ambulances were called only at about 12:00. According to her, the girl could not explain her act, and said that she had taken the medicine.
The surgeon of the City Clinical Center No. 1 Akram Chovdarov said that upon admission they took blood samples of the girl for analysis, an X-ray was taken and the examination showed that there was no need for a surgical operation. The girl was prescribed injections through a dropper.
According to Chovdarov, then Hajiyeva was placed in intensive care. She had no hemorrhage, and there was no fluid in her lungs. The doctor also confirmed that Khalida Bayramova, deputy head of the Sabail executive power, was admitted to intensive care, and the girl"s mother was not allowed to go.
According to the doctor, in the death report, the cause of death was respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, lung injury, etc. The main cause was a brain injury.
The lawyers of the injured party asked what caused the difference between the preliminary diagnosis and the conclusion of a forensic examination. However, the doctor could not answer this question. The hearing continues. -06D--
