Elshad Iskandarov called on Iran to Islamic Solidarity
Baku/16.09.13/Turan : The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Elshad Iskandarov is in Iran on a working visit , the press service of the Ministry.
He was received by the Minister of Culture and Religion Ali Chanute and others. The topic of the discussion was bilateral relations , cooperation in the field of science and religion.
They exchanged views on ways to address the existing problems of cooperation , concrete agreements between the State Committee and relevant agencies of Iran.
Among the topics discussed in Iran was how to prevent the activities of radical religious movements and the prospects for cooperation in this regard , as well as problems of Azerbaijani students studying in Iran.
He also stressed the importance of statements from authoritative religious figures in Iran, under the Islamic Solidarity, on the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani territories .
Today during the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation arrived in the city of Qom , where he will meet with Azerbaijani students studying there and religious figures. -05D04-

On September 16, the Central Election Commission (CEC) submitted the protocols of the extraordinary parliamentary elections to the Constitutional Court. Although there were many complaints regarding the election process, the CEC did not affect the results in any constituency but annulled the results in more than 40 polling stations overall. The commission declared that the elections were conducted at a high level. However, several opposition forces stated that the elections were conducted based on pre-prepared lists.
