Foreign Ministry Calls on International Organizations to Condemn Armenia’s Refusal to Return Azerbaijani Soldier’s Body
The demonstrative refusal of Armenia to return the body of an Azerbaijani soldier is yet another gross violation of international humanitarian law by official Yerevan, in particular the Geneva Conventions.
This was stated by the official representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev, commenting on Armenia's refusal to hand over the body, contrary to prior arrangement with the participation of international mediators.
Hajiyev called on international organizations to demonstrate integrity and demand Armenia fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law.
The Armenian side, making a mockery of the bodies of soldiers, turns them into an object of revenge and political speculation. In particular, traces of violence were found on the bodies of soldiers returned in recent days. -06D-
