Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix starts in Baku
Baku/04.06.21/Turan: The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix starts in Baku on Friday.
According to the organizers, 20 drivers from 10 teams will take part in this year's race.
The competition will begin with free races for Formula 2 drivers. Then the competition will continue with free races for Formula 1 drivers and an ordinal race for Formula 2 drivers.
On the second day of the competition, sprint races for Formula 2, the third free race and an ordinal race for Formula 1 are planned.
The main part of the competition, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, is scheduled for June 6.
The competitions will start and finish at Azadlig Square. The route is built through the Maiden Tower, Icheri Sheher and the Aznef Circle. A total of 51 laps will be made. The length of the ring is 6,003 km, and the total distance is 306,049 km.
Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's race will be held without spectators, as well as without shows and other entertainment programs. –71D-
