Public Forum of Intellectuals of Azerbaijan held a special event on Friday to mark the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis celebrated annually on December 31.
Gala-evening with the participation of the public, political parties and media executives took place in the office a famous playwright, chair of the Forum, Rustam Ibrahimbekov, in the Old city.
Addressing the audience, co-chair of the Forum Eldar Namazov welcomed the guests on his own and on behalf of Rustam Ibrahimbekov, who is currently abroad.
The coming 2013 will be important in the life of Azerbaijan. In this sense, intellectuals and public figures have a special responsibility, he said.
Forum member, Jamil Hasanli, noted that they should not talk about any progress until the Azerbaijani lands are under occupation. He wished that the active and responsible members of society, regardless of political orientation, focused on this important task. -02В-
