Ganimat Zahid: They Prepare to Murder Me
Baku / 15.06.17 / Turan: Ganimat Zahid, the editor of the Azadlig newspaper and the founder of the Azerbaijan Saati TV program, who lives in exile in France, announced the preparation of an attempt on him by the special services of Azerbaijan.
In an appeal that he placed on his Facebook page, it is said that the State Security Service received an order from the head of state to kill him.
Without disclosing the source of this information, Zahid claims that according to the order, the murder should look like a natural death of the journalist.
"There is a terrorist plan for my physical elimination, I'm not a supporter of such statements, but I'm doing this to uncover this insidious plan.
All that we do is not built on one person, so when we no longer do it, there are people who will continue this work," he said.
Recall that Ganimat Zahid is the editor of the newspaper Azadlig since the mid-90s. Several years ago, he was convicted on a contrived charge of hooliganism and spent two years behind bars. After release, the pressure on him did not stop and he was forced to emigrate to Europe.
Four years ago he founded the Azerbaijan Saati TV program, which is broadcast via satellite broadcasting and on the Internet.
This program, which is very popular, is one of the main sources of criticism of the ruling regime in Azerbaijan. -02B-
