Prosecutor General's Office has warned the news portal Politika.az.
The reason for this, according to the press release of the Attorney General, the news portal Politika.az published in articles under various titles "untrue reports that the country's public supposedly protests against the decision of the Tariff Council of 28 November 2016 due to the control the cost of gas and electricity." Portal is charged with violation of the requirements of the law "On mass media" and denigration of the social and economic reforms in the country.
Prosecutor General's Office has seen the report of the portal that the decision of the Tariff Council will lead to a deterioration in the economic status of the population and the rise in the next few days the price of food and other goods, and services, incitement to mass participation of citizens in the protests.
In connection with the above the head of the news portal was invited to the Prosecutor General's Office, where he demanded to stop the publication of information that is untrue. The head of the site has been warned that more serious measures stipulated by the legislation can be applied in the case of repetition of the spread of such information in accordance with Art. 22 of the Law "On Prosecutor's Office".
Politika.az is an online publication with no clear political stance, publishing critical articles about the officials of different levels. -06D--
