Goalkeeper of Iceland's national team moved to "Karabagh"
Baku / 04.07.18 / Turan: Champion of Azerbaijani "Karabagh" on his Facebook page announced the transfer of Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Helsurdorsson, who previously played for the Danish "Randers". The details of the transition of the 34-year-old football player are not specified.
At the World Championships in Russia, Halldoorsson played in three matches: against Argentina (1: 1), Nigeria (0: 2) and Croatia (1: 2), conceding a total of five goals. In a meeting with the Argentines, he repelled a penalty from Lionel Messi.
With one point, Iceland team ranked the last in the group, unable to go to the playoffs.
Halldoursson plays for the Iceland's national team since 2011. At Euro-2016 he helped the team for the first time in history to reach the quarterfinals.
In the past season "Karabagh" won the championship of Azerbaijan for the fifth time. In the Champions League, the club starts from the first qualifying round.
In addition to Hallurdoursson, his line-up in the offseason was strengthened by midfielder Philip Ozobić, who has experience playing for the Croatian national team, and French midfielder Abdulla Zubir, who moved from Lansa.
