Great Achievement of Azerbaijan Mountaineering

September 17 at 13:40 Baku time, the Azerbaijani high-altitude climber and a member of the national mountaineering team, a member of the Mountaineering Tourism Club of the Trade Unions Firuz Dadashov, in pair with the Georgian mountaineer Irakli Gujabidze, climbed to the southern top of the mountain Ushba (4,700 meters, Svaneti, Georgia) on the Gabriel Hergiani route.

On 18 September at 18:46 the climbers successfully descended to the base camp. Turan was told in the press service of the Mountaineering Federation of the country.

This ascent of the 5b complexity route is a great achievement of the national mountaineering school of Azerbaijan. This is the most technically difficult climb made by our climbers in recent years.

Mount Ushba (4,700 m) is located in Svaneti, the north-western province of Georgia. Its unusual shape, grandiose scale of the walls and the conquest history make the mountain a legendary one. It is the most beautiful and austere mountain range of the Caucasus, consisting of 2 peaks - North (4,690 m) and South (4,710 m).

Its conquest is a dream of every climber. -0-
