On Wednesday, the Baku Serious Crimes Court sentenced a group of nine Azerbaijani citizens who participated in the fighting in Syria as part of various military units. Among them are the father and son Vugar and Elvin Dursunalievs. According to the Court, Vugar Dursunaliev was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and his son Elvin - to 4 years. Malik Musayev and Azer Gambarov have been sentenced to 13 years and 4 months, and all the others got 14 years in prison.All these persons were arrested by the National Security Ministry on charges of involvement in an illegal armed group, possession of weapons and ammunition. At various times, police arrested dozens of citizens of the country for participation in the fighting in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria and Iraq.Basically, they are young people fighting on the side of the Islamists.
