Headquarters of the "Kur" asked the MOE information about the situation in the earthquake zone
The staff of the civil society Kura sent an information request to the Minister for Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov to answer the questions regarding the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake in the north-western regions of Azerbaijan in May 2012.
The staff, which is preparing its next report on the situation in the earthquake zone, sent a request of 10 questions, which include issues such as the issuance of monetary compensation to the population, the construction and reconstruction of houses and social facilities.
In particular, the Staff asks, "What construction company working in the earthquake zone?", "What are the criteria of the selection of those companies?", "How much money was spent?", "Where was $ 1.1 billion allocated by the state to deal with the consequences of the Kura flood in 2010 and the earthquake of 2012 sent?"
Information was also requested on the estimates of houses built on their specific number, the criteria for evaluation of the technical condition of buildings and others.
The request from the Staff Kura followed after the recent increase in public statements Emergencies successful elimination of the consequences of the earthquake. This estimate differs sharply with the conclusions of Staff, who released a month ago, the report pointed to the gross violations of the rule of law, transparency, and serious cases of corruption in the quake zone.
The members of the staff made the decision on April 22 at 12 am at the press conference in Azerbaijan Media Center unveil new violations of law related to the earthquake zone.
Recall that the first six-point earthquake occurred May 7, 2012, with the epicenter in Zagatala. A second earthquake of the same strength, with its epicenter in Balakan was recorded in September.
