Baku / January 16, 1919 / Turan: The hunger strike in support of the convicted blogger Mehman Huseynov, which started in the Musavat party"s office on January 4, continues.
On the morning of January 16, 6 people continued the hunger strike, the investigative journalist Khadija Ismayilova told Turan.
Today the deputy chairman of Musavat Tofik Yagublu, who initiated the action on 4 January, stopped the hunger strike. He was forced to abandon the hunger strike due to deteriorating health conditions (a sharp drop in blood pressure).
Currently, the action is continued by Rovshan Niftalyzadeh, Natig Israfilli, Khadija Ismayilova, Aygun Jafarova, Rafig Bakhyshov and Zafar Ahmedli.
Doctors from the district clinic number 21 twice a day check the status of the starving.
Recall that the participants of the action express solidarity with blogger Mehman Huseynov and other political prisoners.
The blogger himself began a hunger strike in prison number 13 on December 26 after a new criminal case was opened against him, accusing him of attacking a warder. -05B-
