Ilgar Mammadov Case Repeatedly Returned to Sheki Court of Appeal
Baku / 02.07.18 / Turan: The Plenum of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan on June 30 considered the implementation of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights.
As the lawyer Fuad Agayev said, the Plenum canceled the decisions of the cassation and appellate instances and returned the case for consideration to the Sheki Court of Appeal.
Let us note that earlier the Supreme Court already returned the case to the Sheki Court of Appeal, and the latter upheld the verdict.
According to observers, this decision of the Plenum is a trick of the authorities, in order to delay the detention of Mammadov.
Mammadov was arrested and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment after the riots in the town of Ismayilli in January 2013.
Despite the fact that the ECHR adopted two decisions on the illegality of the arrest and imprisonment of Mammadov, the Azerbaijani authorities continue to keep him in prison. -06D-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
