In connection with the death of a Gazakh resident, a police officer is detained
Baku/28.09.18/Turan: Ilham Suleymanov, an employee of this department, was detained in connection with the criminal case on death of Elmir Akhundov on September 25 in the Gazakh regional police department. The message of the Prosecutor General's Office of September 28 reads that on the day of the incident Suleymanov was the duty in police department. He was detained as a suspect under the Article 308.2 (abuse of official authority, which caused the consequences) of the Criminal Code. Investigation is ongoing. Elmir Akhundov died in the Gazakh regional police department. According to his sister, he died of torture. However, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs on September 27 said that he was injured by a Gazakh resident Kerim Ahmedov the day before. In this connection, Ahmedov was brought to responsibility under the Article 124.1 (murder through negligence) and 221.3 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. -06D--
