Institute of Democratic Initiatives: Turnout in Parliamentary Elections 25%
The turnout at the last parliamentary election on Sunday was 25 percent. This is evidenced by the results of monitoring conducted by ther Institute of Democratic Initiatives.
Moreover, as IDI noted in a statement released on the evening of 1 November, the information on attendance takes into account the use of so-called "carousel."
"Official figures differ from the actual figures. This once again shows that there was a serious intervention in the election," IDI said.
In its other reports during the day IDI reported "carousel" (groups of people voting at different sites), pressure on observers and other violations.
On November 2 the organization is to make a statement, which will give a preliminary assessment of the whole event that happened on the election day.
According to official data of the CEC, the voter turnout was 55 percent. According to preliminary data, more than half the seats in parliament will be taken by the ruling party New Azerbaijan. In general, a single representative of the real opposition will not enter the parliament. -06D--
