Interior Ministry Investigating Hooliganism against a German Diplomat
February 19 the Attache of the Embassy of Germany in Azerbaijan D. Birnbaum complained to the 22nd police station that at his job in the embassy he was subjected to insults and physical violence. As a result of the acts of hooliganism by an unknown person, the normal operation of the embassy was broken for some time, the Interior Ministry stated.
In the course of the investigation it was found that this man was a resident of Baku Farid Najafguluzadeh. The investigators questioned the diplomat and other embassy staff, as well as Najafguluzadeh.
According to the gathered facts the Nasimi police opened a criminal case under Article 221.1 (hooliganism), which is under investigation. The Interior Ministry assured that the investigation will be objective and the actions of Najafguluzadeh will be given a legal assessment. -16D-
