Interior Ministry on Fatima Movlumla incident
Baku/17.06.23/Turan: Allegations that "Toplum TV" employee Fatima Movlamli was attacked during the June 16 illegal rally are groundless and are not true. A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said.
"All allegations in this regard have been investigated and CCTV cameras in the area of the incident have been viewed. The investigation found that F. Mowlamli was negligent when she suddenly got in the way of a moving car.
Medical X-rays performed on her leg revealed no complications in the form of fractures or sprains. We contacted her after the incident and inquired about her condition. We regret that such an unpleasant incident took place," it further said.
On her part, Mowlamli wrote on her facebook page that she did not get in the way of the police car but merely stepped out on the edge of the road while shooting and the incident happened because the driver of the police car did not slow down. She further points out that neither the driver nor the other police officers called an ambulance and the incident was not recorded by them. In addition, she claims that the police officers prevented her from receiving the results of the X-ray at the state trauma hospital. She had to go to a private clinic, where she was diagnosed with a foot bruise on her left leg. Mowlamli intends to seek a judicial investigation. -21b06-
