Iranian citizen rearrested for drug smuggling
Baku/06.06.22/Turan: During the joint operation of the State Security Service and the Border Troops of the country, an international criminal group of drug dealers was exposed. A resident of the Sabirabad region Rahim Atashov (born 1987) was detained while transporting 37.5 kg of marijuana in his car, the joint statement of the above departments.
It was established that the drugs were illegally brought from Iran and handed over to him by Iranian citizens Mehriban Latif Mohsen (born 1966) and Parsa Jafarlou Ramazan (born 1980). They were detained while crossing the border. It was established that Latif Mehriban was sentenced in Azerbaijan to 15 years in 2008 for a similar crime, and in 2014 she was handed over to the Iranian side.
In fact, the State Security Service initiated a criminal case against the detainees under articles: 206.3.2 (drug smuggling by an organized group), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3-cü (organization of storage and sale of a large consignment of drugs by a group of persons.
The Article 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border) was also applied to Iranians. All three were arrested by court order. -02D-
