Islamic games would cost $100 million
It is planned to spend $100 million on the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017, said Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov at the press conference on Tuesday. According to Turan, $ 60 million of this amount were spent in 2016, the remaining amount is intended for 2017.
According to the minister, the main part of the funds is intended for the opening and closing ceremonies, which will be held at the Olympic Stadium. To participate in the Games in Baku will arrive about six thousand people, of which 4.000 are athletes, and 2000 is the technical participants and delegation.
"Six thousand people will be placed in the Athletes Village. After the completion of the Games the Athletes Village will be returned to the owners, and the houses will be put up for sale," said Rahimov.
According to Rahimov, the European Games 2015 in Baku, according to official data cost at $1 billion, and the income from them amounted to only $100 million. According to unofficial data, the European Games will cost Azerbaijan $8 billion. –71D-
