Journalist Arrested for 30 Days
The freelance journalist Rovshan Mammadli was detained on January 23 around 17.00 in the Yasamal district of Baku.
By the decision of the Yasamal court he was arrested for 30 days for non-submission to police, the lawyer Elchin Sadigov told Turan.
According to him, the journalist was allegedly swearing loudly in the street, using profanity.
The lawyer intends to appeal.
Mammadli’s lawyer believes he is being persecuted for the publication of the "Nardaran case" trial reports.
Note that Mammadli was published on the website of the opposition newspaper Azadlig, where he wrote about the violation of human rights and torture of the prisoner Nardaranis. -05B06--
