Landslide Destroyed Road to Bibi Heybat
Baku / 25.11.19 / Turan: As a result of heavy rains last night, a major landslide occurred on the Bayil slope, which led to the destruction of the highway at the southern entrance to Baku.
The incident occurred on a site located near the Bibi Heybat mosque.
Specialists from the State Highway Agency recorded cracks a few days ago, said Anar Najafli, head of the agency’s press service.
The night before, the cracks increased. Therefore on November 24, at 19.20, the road was closed, and a landslide occurred early this morning.
The descent of land damaged a 100-meter stretch of road. One lane is completely destroyed.
Najafli found it difficult to answer the question, how long it will take to eliminate the consequences of the landslide and restore traffic.
There is no official information about possible victims. –06D--
