Lapshin tried to commit suicide
Baku / 11.09.17 / Turan: Azerbaijani Presidential Aide for Social and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov commented on the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to pardon Lapshin. According to him, "the liberation of Lapshin and the transfer to Israel for a long time were the subject of discussion between the two countries." "There was an agreement that Lapshin would be pardoned, extradited to Israel and there will fulfil his obligations in accordance with the laws of Israel. Unfortunately, Israeli officials were delayed with the procedures. As a result, yesterday there was an unpleasant incident. Lapshin attempted suicide. As a result of the vigilance and efficiency of the staff of the penitentiary institution, this was prevented. Lapshin was urgently given the necessary medical care and currently he continues treatment under the supervision of doctors, "Hasanov told the agency AZERTAGE.
According to him, after the president's order, the issue of the extradition of Alexander Lapshin to Israel after his pardon is dealt with by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and the embassy of this country in Baku. Probably, this procedure will be completed in a short period, Hasanov said.-06D--
