President of Azerbaijan Pardons Alexander Lapshin
Baku / 11.09.17 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today signed an order to pardon the blogger Alexander Lapshin. The decree came into force today.
* Recall that Lapshin was convicted on July 20 to three years in prison on charges of illegally crossing the border. Earlier, he was also accused of appeals against the Azerbaijani state in the form of statements in support of the separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh.
However, Lapshin did not plead guilty at the trial, saying that he was not against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and his trip to Karabakh had a tourist character. And this charge was dropped from him.
Recall that Lapshin was detained in Minsk on December 16, 2016 at the request of Azerbaijan and extradited to Baku. -06B-
