London Hosts Rally in Support of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners
Activists of the International Partnership Group (a coalition of human rights and journalistic NGOs) on November 17 held a picket in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy in London. The action was organized by Index on Censorship.
The human rights activist Ramute Remeyzayte wrote on her page on Facebook:
"Today we lit 100 candles devoted to 100 political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
Among them are my friends, Intigam Aliyev, Rasul Jafarov, Emin Huseynov and Anar Mammadli.
Such actions are held throughout Europe. British police have acted perfectly, wishing us "a good protest action" and did not impede us. Such thing could never happen in Baku," writes Remezayte.
Note that similar actions took place in Brussels, Warsaw and other European cities yesterday. -16D-
