M. Gahramanli: Rights of oil workers grossly violated
Under the pretext of improving the structure of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and cost optimization, abnormal things happen. Turan was stated by the head of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Oil Workers Mirvari Gahramanli.
According to her, violations of the law occur in the operating companies created on the basis of the former structures of SOCAR. In this sense, the lead belongs to the operating company Bahar created on the basis of the oil and gas extraction department (OGED) Gum Adasy.
If on the basis of the OGED a new structure is created and the owner is changed, the employment contract can not be changed. However, the operating company Bahar eliminated perpetual contracts and signed contracts for one year, which is a gross violation of the law.
In the SOCAR reforms were necessary to eliminate duplicative 11 offices and seven departments. In reality, however, these institutions are not canceled and are newly structured as segments.
However, with the elimination of the structures there cannot be layoffs, as workers must be re-employed. Therefore, workers are posed a dilemma: get compensation for 5 months and voluntarily resign.
On the other hand, they do not dismiss workers to reduce the staff, paying monthly compensation and 2-month allowance from the employment center.
Gahramanli also announced the impending dismissal of more than 10 thousand people in the oil industry. -05B06-
