Martyrs' parents blocked the road in front of the Ministry of Defense
Baku/25.01.21/Turan: Approximately twenty parents and relatives of the dead servicemen again blocked traffic in the last two hours in front of the building of the Ministry of Defense on Parliamentary Avenue. The reason for the protest is the same as before - the refusal to bury their loved ones in the Martyrs' Alley.
“We are all residents of Baku and our dead children too. Why were they buried in Garadagh, Lokbatan and other places? You demand that you respect our soldiers so that they be buried together with the rest of the participants in the war on the Martyrs' Alley,” said the mother of one of the victims.
Today, the parents have already held a similar action in front of the Salyan barracks, because the leadership of the Ministry of Defense did not want to listen to them.
After they blocked Tbilisi Avenue for half an hour, they were accepted, but they were not given a clear answer.
At 2 p.m., the disgruntled parents gathered in front of the building of the Ministry of Defense, and again blocked traffic for half an hour, demanding that they be received by Minister Zakir Hasanov.
The police did not use force to convince the crowd to open the movement.
The parents stated that they would continue their promotions until their demands were met. -02B-

On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
