Ganja Poisoning Incident: Children Among Those Affected, No Fatalities Reported (updated)
On August 11, over 90 people were poisoned at a funeral in Ganja and received emergency medical treatment. As of noon on August 12, the State Agency on Medical and Social Expertise (TƏBİB) reports that the affected individuals received prompt medical care and were subsequently discharged for outpatient treatment. Currently, 15 people, including three children, remain hospitalized.
Earlier reports indicated that 37 people who sought help at the Geygel District Central Hospital might have been poisoned by food consumed at the funeral. The State Food Safety Agency is currently investigating the quality of the food served and the sources of the ingredients used.
As of now, no fatalities have been reported in connection with the incident. The ongoing investigation aims to ensure food safety and quality and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

According to local sources, about 80 of them were taken to hospitals. According to the Food Safety Agency, the agency's specialists have launched an investigation into the causes of the mass poisoning.
