The fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the causes of stench from Lake Beyukshor, and the social issues of combating the pandemic are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan continues to write about the fight against coronavrus, recalling that they are treated in 45 hospitals of the country. Along with this, in 10 more modular hospitals another 2,000 people can be treated. 5 of these hospitals have already been commissioned. There are 29 laboratories.
The site Yenisabah.az finds out the causes of stench in some areas of the capital on July 5-6. It is established that the source of stench is Lake Beyukshor. Initial analyzes showed that the norm of harmful substances from the water used in extinguishing a fire at the Sobsan paint factory was exceeded in the lake. When extinguishing a fire, chemicals were mixed in this water.
The Ministry of Ecology said that about 10 years ago, the lake was declared a zone of environmental disaster. However, the measures taken cleared the lake. If it is proved that the cause of the stench is chemical substances drained from the water to extinguish the fire, appropriate measures will be taken.
The website Redaktor.az discusses with the experts the issues of combating the pandemic. Experts believe that this, in addition to medical, is also a social issue. If timely measures were taken, the situation would not have reached such a level. The main mistake is called the softening of the quarantine regime at the end of May. It was necessary to create campaign groups throughout the country and conduct scientific propaganda. Increasing fines is not a way out.
