The situation with the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, the decline in the upper limit of deposits, and the impact of abrupt weather changes on the agrarian sector are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes that TANAP is completely ready for the transportation of gas to Europe. This is the largest part of the Southern Gas Corridor project. After completion of the last part of the project - TAP, gas from the Shah Deniz-2 field will go to Europe via these two gas pipelines.
TANAP with a length of 1,850 km passes through the territory of 20 cities, 67 villages, and 600 villages of Turkey.
The TANAP section from the Georgian border to the Turkish city of Eskisehir was handed over on June 12, and on June 30, gas flowed to Turkey.
The website Oxu.az writes about the effect of reducing to 10% the top level of the interest rate for deposits in the national currency and 2.5% for those in foreign currency.
Currently, leading banks offer dividends of 7% on manat deposits. However, interest rates are still high. The deposits of the population amount to 8 billion 622 million manat, and loans are 12 billion 861 million manat. This means that deposits account for 67% of the loan portfolio. If it is simpler to say, out of every 100 manat offered by banks in loans, 67 manat is taken from the citizens themselves. And then at high interest rates they give out loans to citizens.
In the article, the experts give a more detailed explanation of what is happening, noting the need for banking competition.
The website Modern.az writes about the impact of a sharp change of weather on the agricultural sector. Experts say that for plants it is a stress factor. If rains hit fruits that are still in the trees, they lose their presentation.
The change in the weather also impacts grain, as the rains disturb the water balance, having a negative impact on the quality of the crop. However, this weather has a good effect on animals, as the decrease in temperature affects their appetite and the digestion of food.
