Media Review June 24, 2019

Exploration of oil and gas reserves in the Shallow Water Absheron, the high cost of seasonal fruits, and the loss of local producers are the topics of today's media.

The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the exploration of oil and gas fields in the Shallow Water Absheron.

On December 22, 2014, SOCAR and BP signed an agreement on joint geological exploration work on promising shallow water structures on the Absheron Peninsula, as well as on a shared division.

Each party has 50%; the document is signed for 30 years. The 3D seismic research program was launched on May 31, 2016, and completed on December 27. One of the wells will be drilled in the Bibiheybat marine area, and the other two - in the eastern part of the peninsula - in the Garabatdag and Shimali Haly territories.

The website Azadliq.info discusses with the economist Neymat Aliyev the rise in price that awaits the country, as the wages rising from September make this rise in price even more relevant. The supply of local goods in the domestic market fell to 13%, and five-month losses increased to 2.7 billion manats.

The website Oxu.az writes about the high cost of seasonal fruits, citing the prices as an example. All this is due to weather conditions and an increase in fruit exports. In this regard, inferior fruits are entering the domestic market. At the same time, melons and watermelons will be cheaper this year than last year, because the harvest is good. -0-----
