Member of the Central Election Commission refuses to sign the protocol on the results of parliamentary elections
The CEC of Azerbaijan has approved the protocol of voting in parliamentary elections on November 1, and submitted for approval to the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan. According to the announced results, the parliament elected 71 deputies from the party "Yeni Azerbaijan" (70 by party lists, another self-nominee), 41 non-party, and 11 deputies elected from the 10 parties: the Popular Front of United Azerbaijan, "Great Creation" Civil unity, "Vahdat", the Social Democrats, Civil Solidarity, Democratic Reforms, Movement of National Revival of the Fatherland, Social Welfare, Democratic Enlightenment. In one district of the election results were invalid. Only Akif Gurbanov, CEC member from the opposition refused to sign the protocol on the voting results.
In an interview with Turan, he said that the elections were accompanied by a lack of democratic atmosphere at all stages of the election campaign, as well as massive violations on voting day, therefore they cannot be considered free and fair.
The Constitutional Court shall verify and announce the results of elections within 10 days. -06D--
