Monitoring Center for Political Prisoners Condemned Invasion into Nardaran

The Monitoring Center for Political Prisoners issued a statement in connection with the Nardaran events.

In a statement, the Center’s head Elshan Hasanov expressed condolences to the relatives of those killed during the police raid in Nardaran on November 26, and to the Nardarani believers.

The authors of the statement believe that the authorities used "inappropriate" force against supporters of T. Bagirzadeh and could do without victims.

"It is illegal to call the dead and the detained terrorists or criminals before the court verdict and now they are just suspects," the document says.

The statement also condemned the blockade of the village and noted the need for government assistance in resolving the issue of the debt of the population for electricity.

The authors of the statement support the appeal of the elders and women of Nardaran to the President to resolve the situation through negotiations. -06D--
