National TV and Radio Council Announces Tender for Public Televisions CEO Post Factum
Baku / 14.05.18 / Turan: On May 14, the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) announced a competition for the post of CEO of the Public Television and Radio Company.
It is noteworthy that the competition is announced after the Broadcasting Council of Public Television accepted the resignation of CEO Jamil Guliyev and appointed Balakishi Gasimov to this position.
However, experts of civil society, and in particular, the expert in the field of media law Alesker Mammadli, pointed out the illegality of this appointment, since the CEO of Public TV is appointed on a competitive basis. Last weekend, this topic sparked heated discussions.
To disavow this gross blunder, the order of Gasimov's appointment has been backdated as if he is temporary acting CEO. Those wishing to take part in the tender announced by the NTRC can submit documents from May 15 to May 30. -06D--
