Number of Polluted Beaches Growing
Baku / 07.07.19 / Turan: The Caspian Sea Ecology Integrated Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Environment announced the results of the next monitoring of beaches, conducted from June 28 to July 4.
The monitoring results reaffirmed the microbiological contamination of the beaches Turkan, Hovsan, Shikhov, Sahil and Sumgayit. For the first time, the list of "unreliable" beaches has added Novkhani.
In the northern region, along with Nabran, the beaches of Yalama, Seidlyar and Istisu (Mukhtadyr) are also found to be polluted.
The unsatisfactory situation is also on the beaches of Lankaran and Astara.
According to environmentalists, the increase in the number of polluted beaches in the northern and southern regions is associated with the discharge of sewage into the sea. -06D-
