Official Baku does not comment the death of the country"s citizens in Dagestan
Azerbaijani authorities have not commented yet the death of its citizens on August 18 during the terrorist attack in the mosque of Imam Ali in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt. As a result of an armed attack, one Azerbaijani died and seven were wounded. The dead was a 17-year Elmin Elkhan oglu Jafarov rom thw village of Pensyar of Astara region. The injured are being treated in Khasavyurt.
Attack was made during the festive Iftar in the Shiite mosque, which is mainly visited by Azerbaijanis, located in Dagestan on earnings.
Law enforcement of Dagestan continue investigation.
This topic is widely discussed on the Internet by users. Many agree that the attack was organized by the Wahhabi groups on the grounds of religious intolerance. These groups consider Shiites infidels and apostates.
In Dagestan clashes on religious grounds often take place, but, for the first time, the first victims of armed attacks, became Azerbaijanis.
It should be noted that so far, the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan prevented the attempts to "export" religious extremism from the North Caucasus. With the exception of an armed attack on the Abu Bakr mosque in August 2008, there have not been that any serious crimes in Azerbaijan linked to the North Caucasus and the international terrorist network.—06D--
