Ogtay Gyulalyev in a severe coma - activist’s wife
Baku / 27.11.19 / Turan: The health of human rights activist Ogtay Gyulalyev remains serious. There is no progress with health, spouse of activist Firuz Gyulalyeva told Turan agency.
According to her, O. Gyulalyev has already been transferred from the intensive care unit of the "American Hospital" of Istanbul to the ward.
She noted that doctors find it difficult to make unambiguous predictions.
“They say that neurosurgery was done late in Azerbaijan. There are injuries in the brain. Doctors themselves do not know what will happen,” F. Gyulalyeva noted.
She said , representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation told the activist’s family that they could only finance 20 days in a hospital.
“When Ogtay was transferred from the Avrasia hospital to the American hospital, the representative of the Fund took a receipt from us that the costs would be paid only within 20 days, after which Ogtay could be returned to Azerbaijan. Now we have 11 days left,” F. Gyulalyeva noted.
The day before, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said that at the request of the family of Ogtay Gyulalyev, he was transferred to the "American Hospital", where he underwent an operation to cleanse the brain from hematoma and bypass.
The Foundation clarified that the structure supports the treatment of seriously ill patients on the basis of internal rules, as well as the course and dynamics of treatment.
The Foundation decides on the next help, based on the conclusion of the doctors issued by them every 10-20 days.
A well-known human rights activist was hit by a car on October 29 in the center of Baku. From a stroke, he received a head injury that resulted in cerebral hemorrhage.
A few hours later, the activist fell into a coma. On October 30, a neurosurgical operation was performed on him in Baku.
Arriving on November 5 at the invitation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for examination, Gulaliyaturtsky experts recommended taking him to Turkey for treatment.
On November 6, he was dispatched by AZAL’s special flight to Istanbul and placed in the Avrasia Clinic. On November 19, he was transferred to the American Hospital, where the next day he underwent another neurosurgical operation to remove fluid from the brain.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation took all the expenses associated with the treatment of Gyulalyev on behalf of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva. -03B0

During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
