Baku/03.01.22/Turan: Last night and this morning unstable weather with precipitation and strong winds prevailed in Azerbaijan.
According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, as of noon on January 3, precipitation fell locally, snow and gusty northwest wind blew in the mountainous areas.
The snow depth was 18 cm in Laza (Gusar), 13 cm in Gryz, 10 cm in Agdere (Ordubad), 7 cm in Hynalyg, 7 cm in Shahbuz, 6 cm in Khaltan, 4 cm in Lerik, 2 cm in Sharur and Sadarek, 1 cm in Gusar and 1 cm in Sarybash (Gakh).
Note that north-west wind speed reached 28-32 m/sec in Neftchala, Sheki, Terter - 25 m/sec, Barda, Neftchala, Gobustan, Ganja, Dashkesan - 20 m/sec, Agdam - 18 m/sec, Baku and Absheron peninsula - 15-19 m/sec. At the "Oil Rocks", the height of waves on the Caspian Sea reached 2.8 meters.
In Baku and Absheron peninsula, air temperatures fell to 6° heat, 3-6° heat in lowland areas and 2-9° frost in mountainous areas. In Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic the mercury columns of thermometers dropped to - 5-10°.
Tomorrow, forecasters predict variable cloudiness in Baku and Absheron peninsula with mostly no precipitation and strengthening of southwest winds.
The air temperature at night will range from 3-5 ° C, while during the day it will be 7-10 ° C.
In the most of the regions of Azerbaijan there will be mainly without precipitation. However, rain and snow are expected in some mountainous regions in the evening.
