PFPA activist Alizamin Salaev arrested for 3 months
Baku/08.02.23/Turan: An activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Zamin (Alizamin) Salaev was charged under Art. 221.3 (hooliganism with the use of a weapon or an object used as a weapon). The Garadagh District Court chose a measure of restraint against him in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months.
This was reported to Turan by lawyer Neymat Karimli.
According to the lawyer, Salaev denies the charges brought against him.
“He said that a planned provocation was committed against him.
Last night, at a bus stop in the Lokbatan circle, he was attacked by a man with a knife, insulting Salaev. To defend himself, Salaev pushed this man away and wanted to leave the territory. However, a few minutes later, the police detained Salaev,” the lawyer said.
According to him, as a sign of protest, Salaev went on a hunger strike from the day of his arrest.
Earlier, The press service of the Interior Ministry confirmed that Salayev is suspected of stabbing. According to the Ministry, on the night of February 7, a resident of the village of Sahil, Natik Suleymanov, was stabbed in the stomach and arm. The attacker fled the scene. The wounded man was hospitalized.
Police officers detained the suspect Zamin Salayev, the press service of the interior Ministry told Turan.
It is worth recalling that Salaev has been arrested several times before on administrative and criminal charges.—06B-
