An activist of the Popular Front Party Nijat Nizamov on January 9 at 16.00 was taken away from his home to the 30th police precinct of the Surakhany district. As of the morning of January 10, he was not released, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gozal Bayramli told Turan.
The PFPA activists who came to the police precinct are not provided information about the reasons for the detention.
Bayramli believes Nizamov is likely to stand trial today.
"Usually, in such cases, our activists are on trial for administrative detention," Bayramli said. We could not get comments from the police station staff.
According to the latest information, the morning of 10 January the activist was being taken to the Surakhani court, where he would be arrested administratively.
The man’s fellow activists believe the reason for Nijat’s persecution is his Facebook postings on the trial of the Nardaran case, where he criticized the actions of the authorities. -06D-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
