Baku/10.02.13/Turan: The President of the National Academy of Sciences Mahmud Karimov died in the Istanbul hospital on February 9.
The cause of his death was a massive heart attack.
As it became known from informed sources, the state of the64-year-old physicist worsened in the countryside yesterday. He was taken to the Central Hospital in Baku, but they could not take him out of the crisis. Karimov was sent with a charter flight to Istanbul, but the attempt to save him failed.
On Sunday night the body was brought to Baku. The funeral of the head of the Academy will be held on Monday. The farewell ceremony will take place at the Academy of Sciences. -02B-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
