The newspaper Echo publishes an article about the forthcoming rise in price of meat. In Azerbaijan, the government has headed for the renaissance of "white gold" (cotton growing), which will inevitably lead to a reduction in pastures and livestock, and so the prices for meat will rise sharply. Now technical crops are sown on pastures, on which large and small cattle were grazed earlier. Now in several regions of the country there is simply no place to graze cattle. Against this background, prices for feed for cattle have sharply increased. All this will inevitably lead to a jump in prices for meat, which in the near future will rise in price by at least 15%. By the new year prices will grow even more.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya writes about the shortage of natural gas. According to the State Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2017, the total consumption and reserves of natural gas amounted to almost 12 bcm. 78.9% of the "blue fuel" was generated through extraction, 14.5% were the remains of past years and 6.6% were imported. In parallel, they have significant problems with consumption. Of the 5.2 bcm of natural gas in the country, 67.2% accounted for production targets, and 32.8% (1,702.3 mcm) accounted for the population.
Another problem is the debt of consumers. In this regard, proposals were prepared to accelerate the collection of payment for gas and the application of penalties for the illegal use of "blue fuel".
