Prosecutor Calls for Life Imprisonment for Taleh Bagirzadeh
At the trial of the Nardaran case on Monday a final statement of the prosecutor was heard.
The state prosecutor called to sentence the leader of the movement Muslim Unity Taleh Bagirzadeh to life imprisonment, his deputy Abbas Huseynov - to 20 years in prison, Jabbar Jabbarov – to 19 years, Rasim Jabarailov – to 17 years, Ramin Yariyev - to 10 years, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Fuad Gahramanli - to 11 years in prison.
For the remaining 12 defendants the public prosecutor asked for 15 years of imprisonment.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 9.
The defendants were arrested during the raid on 26 November 2015 in Nardaran. They were charged with attempting to violent change of the constitutional order, terrorism, murder, illegal possession of weapons and others.
Gahramanli is accused of anti-state calls, inciting ethnic hatred, and calls to mass disorder.
Human rights activists admit all the accused as political prisoners. -06D--
