Protest Action in Front of Azerbaijani Embassy in London
A group of international human rights activists held a protest in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy in London on June 12 as part of the campaign Sport for Human Rights.
The participants demanded the release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan, holding placards with portraits of the human rights defenders Rasul Jafarov, Intigam Aliyev, Leyla Yunus, Emin Huseynov and the journalists Khadija Ismayilova and Seymour Hazi.
The activists were wearing T-shirts with slogans demanding the freedom of the said persons. They unfurled a banner "Criticism not a crime."
The action is timed to the opening of the European Games.
