Psychologist Warns of Possible Increase in Number of Suicides
In the last 3-4 years the number of suicides in Azerbaijan has acquired an avalanche character and continues to grow, the psychologist Azad Isazadeh told Turan.
According to him, there are many reasons leading to suicide, but all sorts of comments on this subject are subjective judgments, because there is no dedicated structure to investigate this problem systematically and to summarize the statistics.
It is not necessary that it should be a state-run entity. It may be a research center. The main thing is to obtain a department that would coordinate research and statistics in this area. Since there is no comprehensive research and the reasons for suicide are not studied, the problem begins to bear the "epidemic" character.
According to him, people are pushed to suicide not only by social or financial problems. Perhaps there is an impact of other factors.
"If there is no systematic study of suicides, the number of suicides will increase rapidly," the expert said. -05C06--
